CloudMunch Selected By AWS To Launch Its DevOps PaaS

by Biztech2.com Staff 30th November, 2012 in Cloud Computing

CloudMunch Inc., a cloud-based orchestration engine for managing the entire application lifecycle, today announced it has been selected by Amazon Web Services to launch its DevOps Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS). Selected from hundreds of companies, CloudMunch will be one of eight start-ups to be featured at “Launched”, a Live Stage environment where some of the most promising start-ups running on AWS have been invited to present and demonstrate their solution.

Software developers today rely on a variety of cutting-edge cloud-based services to build, deploy, and manage their applications. Tools such as Asana, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, Chef, GitHub, Google Docs, JIRA, and New Relic have become indispensible to today’s software teams – especially for distributed teams. However, orchestrating all of these tools into a seamless workflow remains a significant challenge. With the General Availability release of the CloudMunch Platform, software development teams will now have a faster, easier way to Build-Test-Deploy-Run, and Manage applications in the cloud.  CloudMunch is available in two editions: a Team Edition - and with this launch - a new Developer Edition. The Developer Edition is designed for individual developers and provides a simple way for them to deploy their application and run it on AWS.

“A key focus area for AWS is to help companies get started by offering a technology infrastructure with no capital expense and low pay as you go pricing, and providing a technology platform with a broad functionality and global scale,” said Ariel Kelman, Head of Worldwide Marketing, AWS.  “This year, at the first AWS re:Invent conference, we have pushed “getting started” to a new level by creating a dynamic, live stage environment for start-up companies to launch publicly for the first time.  We’re excited to have CloudMunch participate and show off their innovation on AWS.”

Founded by former Infosys executives, CloudMunch launched its private beta in May 2012 and its service has since been adopted by over 30 customers ranging from product companies, IT service and SaaS providers, Web 2.0 businesses and innovative start-ups, demonstrating compelling user benefits such as faster time-to-market, improved quality and substantially lower costs.

“The reality of distributed teams coupled with a new generation of cloud-based tools means that delivering quality software on a continuous basis is becoming even more complex and fraught with risk. CloudMunch addresses this with a ‘Hub in the Cloud’ architecture, orchestrating the entire application lifecycle into a single workflow, enabling developers to use the tools they’re already comfortable with,” said Pradeep Prabhu, CEO and co-founder of CloudMunch. “CloudMunch provides in-context, real time analytics for the entire application lifecycle. Our mission is to let development teams focus on code and innovation, and in the process, raise the bar on software delivery speed and quality.”
