NIC Selects 4Gid For Biometric Technology
4Gid was selected after stringent technical evaluation that was carried out mainly on the basis of demonstration of Integration of the 4+4+2 FP biometric device with the Immigration, Visa, Foreigner Registration and tracking system followed by financial evaluation.
Immigration, Visa and Foreigners Registration & Tracking (IVFRT) Project has been taken up by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India under the National e-Governance Project (NeGP) as one of the Mission Mode Projects (MMPs). The core objective of the IVFRT System is to develop and implement a safe, secure and integrated service delivery framework that facilitates legitimate travellers while strengthening security. The integration of biometric system with IVFRT will enable enrolment of the traveller’s biometrics and subsequent verification of their identity at different Immigration check points thereby enabling effective identification of travellers.
Dr. Sreeni Tripuraneni, Chairman and CEO of 4G Identity Solutions said, “4Gid has significantly invested in the verticals of e-Immigration, e-Visa and Border Identity Management based on biometric and ICT technologies and we are extremely satisfied with this win as it once again signifies our system integration capabilities in delivering large scale national id projects.”
