Infor, a provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, has that announced it has received the VERAFIED application security mark from Veracode, a cloud-based application risk management services platform provider, for its global enterprise resource planning suite, Infor LN. This certification demonstrates Infor’s ongoing commitment to security in order to help mitigate customers’ risk in areas such as: reputation damage, financial loss, operational risk, sensitive information disclosure, personal safety, and legal violations.

“Security threats and vulnerabilities can be combated by application providers who are informed and committed to delivering products that are designed from the ground up with security in mind,” said Alexander Renz, Director of Product Management, Infor. “Infor LN is deployed in thousands of mission critical installations in industries ranging from industrial machinery and equipment to aerospace and defence companies. By earning the VERAFIED security marks, we validate our own internal application security standards through Veracode as an independent, market leading provider.”

“We are frequently faced with news of data breaches and cyber threats that remind us that the security of critical software services is often inadequate,” said Chris Wysopal, CTO, CISO and co-founder, Veracode. “In fact, 62 percent of all applications submitted for verification do not achieve an acceptable security score upon first submission to Veracode for testing. Infor, however, has clearly demonstrated that it has more security-aware development teams and more formal development practices that protect customers and provide a deserved sense of information safety.”

In order to receive this rating, Infor’s web client technology, Infor LN WebUI 10.6, was tested against industry-standard benchmarks such as the Common Weakness Enumeration – CWE; Common Vulnerability Scoring System– CVSS; and the National Institute of Standards and Technology- NIST; to determine software weaknesses and vulnerability severity levels.

Infor LN is an enterprise resource planning suite designed to meet the needs of complex, global operations in general manufacturing, high tech, industrial machinery and equipment, automotive, aerospace and defence, distribution and service industries.
